Ashley Smith
Ashley was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT) at the age of five, and with bi-lateral hip dysplasia at the age of twelve.
CMT is a hereditary neuromuscular disorder which causes muscle deterioration and loss of balance. Ashley has received many surgeries on her feet and will require “maintenance” surgeries throughout her life. She has under gone a series of reconstructive surgeries on both of her hips due to her bi-lateral hip dysplasia condition.
Ashley attends Bob Jones University and is majoring in Pre-Medicine. Her intended career objective is to become a physician.
